a woven path

— where threads meet intention

Gather, weave, and reconnect. A return to slower rhythms — spaces where threads, stories, and intentions intertwine, and the simple act of making becomes a quiet kind of magic.

Since the earliest times,

women have gathered in circle to weave — not only with their hands, but with their hearts. These timeless gatherings are spaces to pause, reconnect, and create from a place of intuition and presence.

Here, each thread becomes a meditation. Each weave, a story unfolding. Together, we settle into rhythm, reflection, and the quiet magic that arises when creation and intention intertwine.

I’ve spent many years teaching and sharing the art of weaving — through workshops, my online weaving school, and self-paced courses — guiding others to discover the calm and beauty found in the loom’s gentle rhythm. Now, I’m returning to where it all began: smaller circles, in-person gatherings, and a slower way of making — a weaving of craft, community, and connection.

A new chapter is taking shape… one that continues to unfold, thread by thread — a woven path of creativity, connection, and becoming.

a woven path — where creativity and intention intertwine

Have you been longing to slow down, to create with your hands, and to reconnect with that part of yourself that knows how to listen, feel, and make?
Perhaps you’ve been wanting to learn a new craft, to weave beauty into your days, or simply to carve out a little time that’s yours — a pause from the rush of life, where you can breathe and create with intention.

A Woven Path is an invitation to do just that.
To sit in circle and rediscover the quiet joy of weaving — to gather with like-minded women, each bringing their own stories and colours, each creating something unique yet connected.
To learn, share, reflect, and create not just art, but meaning.

In these gatherings, we weave with more than thread — we weave our thoughts, dreams, and intentions into form. Each piece becomes a reflection of the time and care we’ve given ourselves, a tangible reminder of what it feels like to slow down and truly make.

Whether you’re new to weaving or already love the rhythm of the loom, this is a space to explore, to grow, and to be supported.

These smaller, slower sessions are held in person, with the possibility of online gatherings returning soon, to welcome those who wish to weave from afar.

Come sit, weave, and begin your own woven path — one of creativity, connection, and quiet transformation.

Join a circle and explore current offerings.

Step onto the woven path — one thread, one story, one circle at a time.

Why We Weave — the beauty and benefits

Weaving is more than a craft.
It’s a meditation in motion — a slow, steady rhythm that invites you back to yourself.
Each thread offers a moment to pause, breathe, and be fully present.

When we gather to weave, something deeper unfolds.
We find calm in the simple repetition of thread and loom.
We express our creativity, explore colour and texture, and give shape to our thoughts and dreams.
We connect — with ourselves, with others, and with something timeless that women before us have always known.

Through these circles and courses, you’ll:

  • Learn the art and rhythm of weaving, from simple beginnings to expressive forms

  • Experience the mindfulness and relaxation that come from working with your hands

  • Cultivate confidence in your own creative expression

  • Enjoy meaningful connection and shared reflection with a supportive community

  • Create something beautiful that carries your story — a woven reminder of what you’ve given yourself

Each gathering is a gentle act of renewal — a returning home to creativity, calm, and connection.

Each time we sit to weave, we return — to stillness, to creativity, to ourselves. May this be a space where you feel held, inspired, and quietly at home in your own making.

What people are saying.

“I wanted to write and thank you Suzanne for your online weaving school magic!

I love getting creative and learning new things and when I saw your woven wall hangings, I fell in love and wanted to make some for my home.I purchased the smaller weave set from you (now I want to by your larger kit).

After the initial excitement of it arriving, I soon realised I didn’t have a clue where to start and got lost and confused on YouTube. Then I joined The Nest Facebook Group and next your online weaving school.

As a result  I have now progressed from complete novice, to almost finishing my first piece. I am so much more knowledgeable and confident to get going with some more, so I can fill my home with beautiful textured artwork.

Life is pretty busy at the moment and this has given me some time out and space to breathe and learn a little something new. The boys have enjoyed learning and watching my weaving loom come to life!

Thank you for all your lovely support and for teaching me how to weave

Good luck with your new online weaving school adventures, such an exciting and inspiring community you’ve created.”

From Novice to Weaver in 5 weeks …..students gallery >

During this unsettled and uncertain time I found that I was feeling anxious. I also had time on my hands due to the tea room being closed. I thought it would be a great opportunity to learn a new skill . I enrolled at the Nest & Burrow Weaving School online weaving course. The calmness it has brought my mind is priceless . I can not thank Nest & Burrow enough. It’s fun, creative & I have fulfilled my task of learning a new skill. Suzanne Gattrell Hodshon is always on hand for support and advice and her teaching skills are on point, plus she’s lovely .I highly recommend this wonderful independent business and course. I’ve just finished weaving and now have to learn how to get it off the loom to be able to hang it and do another one.
