Foundations of the Woven Path ~ Weaving Circle

£125.00

Sunday 1st March 10-4pm

A gently held weaving circle to open your path as a weaver, grounded in the foundational techniques of modern weaving and rooted in creativity, connection and inner quiet.

This full-day circle is designed as the first step on a much deeper journey.
Here, you’ll learn the essential foundations of weaving: preparing your loom with care and intention, working with the core modern techniques, and discovering how texture, colour and fibre speak to one another as you begin to weave.

You’ll be guided to create a simple design that feels aligned with your own energy, choosing the hues, fibres and textures that call to you, and by the end of the day you’ll have woven a meaningful piece to take home, infused with your presence and the gentle spirit of the circle.

This Foundational Circle is part of a wider weaving path, a slow, beautiful unfolding into becoming a weaver.
For those who choose to continue, this journey expands into deeper techniques, natural dyeing, spinning, heritage patterns, and eventually creating your own signature piece.
Each circle offers another layer, another skill, another opening (for more details email me at suzanne@nestandburrow.co.uk).

We’ll work with a curated selection of wools, natural fibres and earthy textures.
All materials are included, along with a nourishing homemade lunch, wholesome snacks, and warm tea and coffee flowing throughout the day.

The circle is held in the peaceful setting of my home in Thurlestone, on the South Devon coast — between Salcombe and Bigbury, and around 30 minutes from Totnes. It’s a place where the pace naturally softens and creativity feels at home.

The day runs 10am–4pm and is limited to 6 women, allowing for spaciousness, support, and the quiet magic that happens in smaller circles.

Words from women who have woven with me…

“I had such a brilliant time learning how to weave. I’d been wanting to try it for so long. Suzanne was patient, warm and so clear in her guidance. I left feeling deeply inspired and can’t recommend it enough.”
Sam, Bath

“I absolutely loved this circle — it honestly surpassed my expectations. I left with a piece of woven art I’m so proud of, and felt completely welcomed from the moment I arrived.”
Kim, Kent

“Everything about the experience was beautiful. Suzanne creates such a calming space and guides you with confidence and ease. If you’re wanting to switch off, relax and lose yourself in wool and creativity, this is the place to be.”
Gemielle, Bradford on Avon

I know that plans sometimes change.
If you need to cancel, please give at least 48 hours’ notice. After that, refunds aren’t possible, but I’ll always do my best to offer an alternative date wherever I can — especially in unexpected or difficult circumstances.
