Botanical Bandanas - West Wittering

Create your own naturally dyed & botanically printed scarf

Join me for an immersive few hours exploring botanical printing and natural colour, transforming a simple cotton bandana into your own completely unique piece of wearable botanical art.

Working with seasonally available botanics, fresh or dry, we'll explore how colour, shape and beautiful botanical detail can be transferred directly from plants onto cloth.

I'll guide you through the process of creating your own composition before we bundle and process our cloth, allowing the plants and natural dyes to work their alchemy.

The joy of botanical printing is that no two pieces are ever quite the same. Leaves, flowers, colour and cloth combine in their own individual way, making the final reveal part of the magic.

Your finished bandana can be worn around your neck, in your hair, tied to a favourite bag or simply treasured as a beautiful piece of botanical cloth.

And with Christmas approaching, you might choose to make yours for someone you love.

If so, you'll also have everything you need to beautifully package your finished piece before you leave, ready to give as a genuinely personal, handmade Christmas gift.

Although, of course, you may decide it's far too lovely to give away.

No previous experience is needed. I'll guide you through the whole process and provide your natural cotton bandana, botanicals, natural dyes and all the materials you'll need.

Come on your own or bring a friend and spend a few hours immersed in plants, natural colour and creativity.

Your workshop includes:

Your natural cotton bandana
All botanicals, natural dyes and materials
Full tuition and guidance
Refreshments
Beautiful gift packaging for your finished bandana

Your host

I’m Suzanne Gattrell Hodshon, a creative facilitator and maker based in South Devon.

My work explores the meeting point between nature and creativity, and over the years I’ve worked with natural dyes, botanical printing, fibre and locally gathered materials to create beautiful, immersive making experiences.

I love sharing these processes in a way that feels relaxed and accessible, giving you enough guidance to feel confident while leaving plenty of room to experiment and make something entirely your own.

A little taste of botanical creativity…

“It was such an addictive process creating like this! I loved each pattern reveal! I was very bold with my final design.

Suzanne is an incredibly generous space holder & host, taking care of every single nourishing detail. And there was lots of hands on support & gorgeous conversations as we created.”
